Difficulty: moderate
A moderate hike in the Annapurna region for those who want a taste of trekking without the high altitude. A good introduction to trekking in Nepal - not as difficult as some of the classic treks, but it gives you a chance to sample life on the trail while enjoying spectacular scenery and interesting wildlife.

Did the four day trek. The scenery is beautiful and the accommodation during the trek are comfortable. The difficulty is a bit higher than easy, more closer to an intermediate level. I would certainly return for a longer trek.

Ghandruk village is the highlight of this trek-- with absolutely STUNNING views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Fishtail. If you want to beat the crazy crowds at Ghorepani-Poon Hill and the very slim chance of seeing the Annapurnas on a cloudy day from the Poon Hill viewpoint, take this trek! We saw hardly any tourists on our 4 day journey.

Australian Camp is worth the detour for the excellent views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare (Fish Tail).

The side trip to Poon Hill was beautiful although the view at Khopra was more dramatic and far less crowded. If we did the Khopra trek again, I probably would not go to Poon Hill as well.

The final ascent from Ghorepani to Poon Hill is not as difficult as some other parts of the trek, and is certainly worth doing for the spectacular views of the sunrise over the Annapurna range from the top.
