The Manaslu region is home to the world’s 8th highest mountain. The trekking route that encircles this peak is growing in popularity, often referred to as the way the Annapurna Circuit used to be. Villages such as Lho, Samagaon, and Samdo retain their traditional stone architecture and feel in contrast to the “Lodge Towns” along the more popular Annapurna and Everest treks. In addition to the Manaslu Circuit (or Around Manaslu Trek), trekkers have the option of a side trip into the Tsum Valley. This remote Valley is bounded by Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and the Boudha ranges. The valley was settled by people of Tibetan origin, and has a rich cultural history.
